The cracks and damage we fix in Randburg

  • Structural cracks — often linked to ground movement, cut back to sound concrete and rebuilt to full strength
  • Surface crazing — fine cracks sealed before they spread further into the finish
  • Leaking cracks — traced, opened up and rebuilt watertight
  • Movement & settlement damage — assessed for the underlying cause before any repair begins
  • Osmosis blisters in fibreglass — ground back, dried out fully, then resin and gelcoat reapplied and cured
  • Chalky or faded marbelite — old finish stripped back and new marbelite applied, left to cure overnight

Our approach to swimming pool repair

  1. Inspect and pressure-test to find every crack and its cause
  2. V-cut structural cracks and clean them out fully
  3. Rebuild with the correct repair system for the shell type
  4. Reinstate the surface finish over the repair
  5. Refill, balance and confirm the pool holds water

A lasting crack repair starts with the cause. We check for the ground movement or structural issue behind the crack, so the fix doesn’t simply reopen a season later. Structural repairs to the concrete shell carry the same 10-year guarantee we give on new builds, provided the damage isn’t due to natural causes like severe weather or human interference.

What does swimming pool repair cost?

Cost depends on the number and severity of cracks and the finish involved. We diagnose first and quote on what’s actually needed. As a guide, a full remarbelite refinish on a 6x4m pool runs to around R18,000, and a full refibreglass around R25,000 — a targeted repair is usually a fraction of that. Either way, you get a clear, fair price for the work in Randburg — no surprises.

Swimming Pool Repair FAQs — Randburg

Why does my pool keep cracking?

Usually ground movement, settlement or an underlying structural issue. We find the cause first, so the repair lasts.

Do you handle all types of pool repair?

Yes — structure, surface, plumbing and equipment. We diagnose first so you only pay for what’s needed. All our major repair work is backed by a guarantee, from the concrete shell through to the finish.

Can a cracked pool be saved, or must it be rebuilt?

The large majority of cracked pools can be repaired. We’ll tell you honestly if a rebuild is the better long-term option.

Will the repair be visible?

We reinstate the surface finish over the repair so it blends in as closely as possible.

The materials and techniques behind a lasting repair

A repair is only as good as what goes into it. For structural work, we rebuild with the same materials and standards used in new pool construction — Y8 steel bars and 100mm mesh wire tied into the surrounding reinforcement, and 30 MPa ready-mix concrete from a reputable supplier, poured to match the original 150mm shell thickness. The repaired section is left to cure for three to five days before any finish goes back on, so it has time to reach full strength.

Surface repairs follow the finish already on your pool. On marbelite pools, the affected area is prepared and new marbelite applied, then left to cure overnight before the pool is refilled. On fibreglass pools, the damaged section is plastered and left to dry completely before resin and gelcoat are applied and cured over it — the same sequence used when we refibreglass a pool from scratch. Plumbing repairs use 50mm PVC piping for suction and return lines, matched to the original installation.

Because we use the same materials and methods as our new builds, our repair work carries the same guarantees: ten years on the concrete shell, five years on remarbelite, five years on refibreglass, and one year on piping. All guarantees are honoured except where damage results from natural causes, such as severe weather, or human interference, such as walking on a finish before it has cured.

A crack that keeps reopening usually means the cause was never fixed, not just the surface. Send us the details for a proper quote, or get in touch and we'll talk you through what to check first.
